For many years, Xena and the salon’s stylists have volunteered a day of hair cutting for charitable causes. In 2007, MS Hope for a Cure was thrilled when Xena and the staff chose MS Hope for a Cure to be the beneficiary of their event. EJ Levy, founder of MS Hope for a Cure, and her mom and friends had been a long time clients of Xena’s. When EJ was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Xena and her staff were amazed to see how she took a difficult situation and turned it around, using her energies to start her own foundation and become one of the largest fund raisers for MS, and they were excited to be able to contribute!
Xena’s Beauty Company and MS Hope for a Cure came together on April 29th, 2007 and raised $5,000 for Multiple Sclerosis programs and research. Although the salon put together a suggested price on their services for the event, many generous patrons donated more than the recommended amount. The event included food from local eateries, a raffle for beauty products, and gift certificates to New York restaurants. What a great way to LOOK GREAT for a GREAT CAUSE!
