Julie Fiol is the Senior Manager of MS Information and Resources for the Healthcare Access Team at the National MS Society.
In this role, Ms. Fiol manages all professional information and resources available through the Society’s Professional Resource Center. She is the editor of the Society’s quarterly professional newsletter, Clinical Care Connection, with has a distribution to more than 14,000 healthcare professionals. In addition, she develops educational programs for professionals across multiple disciplines as well as programs for Society staff to ensure their MS knowledge.
Ms. Fiol has a long career of supporting people affected by MS. She is a licensed social worker, a registered nurse and an MS certified nurse. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Johns Hopkins University. She completed the John Dystel Nursing Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University and practiced as a research and clinical nurse in the Johns Hopkins Precision Medicine MS Center of Excellence. Prior to that she worked as social worker with the National MS Society, Maryland Chapter. Ms. Fiol is actively involved with the International Organization of MS Nurses and presents at their regional educational programs.
