Asaff Harel is a licensed neurologist sub-specializing in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and related neuro-immunological conditions such as neuromyelitis optica (NMO) and neurosarcoidosis. He currently practices full-time at the Northwell MS Center, both at Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and at the Northwell Neuroscience Institute in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Harel completed his undergraduate and master’s degree work at Brandeis University. After one year working in research at the NIH, he started medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he joined the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship. After medical school, he completed both neurology residency and a multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, funded by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Institutional Clinical Training Award.
